General-purpose chatbots are confident about tax in a way that should worry anyone who signs a return. They paraphrase, they invent section numbers, and they give you no way to check the answer short of redoing the research yourself.

Pecos Tax is built the other way around. The authority comes first: a conclusion is only useful to a preparer if the Code section, regulation or ruling behind it is sitting right there, ready to be opened and read. Everything else in the product — memo drafting, document Q&A, shared firm threads — is built on top of that habit.

We build for licensed professionals. That means the assistant is allowed to say it is unsure, allowed to flag where a position is unsettled, and never presented as a replacement for the judgment you are the one licensed to exercise.
